Research & Idea Generation

The first step to any successful project is the investigation of reality, analyzing the problem and asking the right questions. This is the divergent thinking phase. The key is to get as many appropriate ideas on the table as quickly as possible in their roughest form. This may be done through photographs and sketches, a quick CAD model might be drawn when dimensions are critical. This is done in consultation with the client so feedback can be given and received quickly, therefore reducing project times and costs.

Photo-Realistic Rendered Presentations

Only the best and most appropriate ideas make it to this stage. Together we take the ideas with the most potential, make improvements and apply materials and construction refinements. Rendering the models involve applying lights and setting it in an environment to make the model more realistic. Sometimes detail notes and important dimensions are added for verification.

Concept Development

After the initial round of rough ideas are explored a few are chosen to move to the next round of development. This is the convergent thinking phase and involves computer CAD modeling where forms, shapes, sizes get more refined and potential issues are revealed.

Education

Education is important to our growth and our children need good quality education to reach their full potential. Education is more than passing tests, when done right it allows us to think critically and creatively and allows us to be confident with our abilities. The educational process is best achieved through the arts and the design process. I help home school our children and teach design outreach classes to other children.
